An Extension of your living room

Our Center is multicultural, where persons 60 years of age and older are greeted by a friendly staff willing to provide "a one stop-shopping" technique of services. These services range from nutritional (Breakfast and Lunch daily), social, recreational and educational activities, created to enhance the quality of life for older adults.

The center is handicapped accessible and provides services Monday thru Friday from 7 :45 a.m. to 3 :45 p.m. 250 days a year. Our center is sponsored by Samaritan Village Inc. and is under contract with the Department for the Aging. The Staff consists of a Director, Program Assistant, Recreational Aide, clerk, cook and a host of motivated volunteers.

The Woodside Senior Center has been providing services to the community for several years in conjunction with other community services such as Visiting Nurse, Elmhurst Hospital, Department of Health, Salvation Army, and New York City Housing Authority.

The center has a dynamic membership committee. They are responsible for sponsoring bi-monthly outings, enlisting informative lectures, hosting monthly birthday celebration and enrolling new members. The center has approximately 400 active members.
