State

- Information on New York City and State intergenerational resources
The Intergenerational Resource Directory came about through a public/private
partnership between New York city Department for the Aging and the New York
State Intergenerational Network with major funding provided by the Verizon
Foundation.
The New York City Department for the Aging is the
largest Area Agency on Aging in the United States. It provides extensive
services to 1.3 million older New Yorkers and supports a unique cluster of
intergenerational programs which have been recognized as replicable models for
service delivery.
The New York State Intergenerational
Network is the primary coordinator of
intergenerational programs and activities in New York State. It is a membership
organization committed to maintaining and expanding intergenerational
initiatives for all ages, and is affiliated with Generations United. In 1991,
the Intergenerational Network developed the first resource directory of
intergenerational programs in New York State.
